All,
I wanted to send out
a note to let all of you know how very proud I am of each and
every one of the rowers on this year's team Never before has
Conestoga had a season such as this season. This is by far the
most successful any Conestoga team has been at Stotesbury. Out
of 8 entries, we placed all 8 entries in the semi-finals (never
before done), and we placed 5 crews in the finals (never before
done). Out of the five crews in the finals, all 5 crews medaled.
Conestoga Crew earned 2 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze
medal this weekend. No other team received more medals than
Conestoga this weekend.
Interesting Facts:
Conestoga is the first team to win
the Brides Plate (G V 4x) three times
Conestoga is the first team to win
both the Girl's V 4x and the Girl's JV 4x in the same year since
1999.
Conestoga had the highest finishing
US B V 2x, behind 2 Canadian crews
Out of the six years we have had an
entry in the Girl's V 4x, we have finished no lower than 2nd
place (3 firsts and 3 seconds)
The girl's Light 4+ is the first ever Conestoga sweep boat to
win a medal at Stotesbury
Never before has Conestoga placed a
girl's V 1x and a boy's V 1x in the semifinals at Stotesbury
Out of 23 rowers participating this
weekend, 19 earned a medal. That is an 83% medal rate.

earned a gold, 39% earned a silver, and 9% earned a bronze
This team had the
most efficient team performance ever recorded by a Conestoga
Rowing Team. All of the rowers should be extremely proud of
their accomplishments this weekend - all of them. This was a
total team effort. These results are based on their work ethic,
determination, drive, and passion. If not for their hard work,
dedication, and discipline, these results would not have been
possible.
I personally want to
applaud each and every one of them on behalf of all of the
coaches. They have truly been a joy to coach this season. We
should all be very proud of the seniors and captains. They have
done a fantastic job of leading this team.
I also want to
applaud all of the parents and supporters of this year's team.
Without your hard work and dedication to keeping this team well
run, well funded, and well organized, none of this would have
been possible. Thank you from all of the coaches.
We have another big
weekend coming up at SRAA Nationals. I have no doubt we can top
this past weekend's results.
